The Prince’s Initiative’s core aim is the support of ‘Business creation by the over 50s’ through shaping the environment by informing and developing public policy and the delivery of quality training products and services to support enterprise.

The Prince’s Initiative was founded by HRH The Prince of Wales in response to letters he was receiving from people desperate to work but unable to find anyone to employ them – because of their age.

The Prince’s Initiative is recognised as the leading authority on mature enterprise and is accredited as a SFEDI centre of excellence.  SFEDI is a government- recognised UK standards body for Business support and enterprise.

Of the 11,000,000 aged 50-65 in the UK, there are now over 4,000,000 people over the age of 50 who are seeking work and many more now worrying about redundancy. A third of those aged between 50 and state pension age are not working, with a large percentage dependent on benefits.
